ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, revealing that it has surpassed its 2028 carbon intensity reduction target three years ahead of schedule. The report, released on July 21, 2026, shows a 70.5% reduction in carbon intensity from the 2021 baseline, driven by 83.2% renewable energy usage. This achievement underscores the company's ability to scale infrastructure responsibly while meeting accelerating demand, particularly from AI-driven workloads.
The report highlights a 41.2% improvement in water usage effectiveness (WUE) from the 2020 baseline and a 13.0% improvement in power usage effectiveness (PUE) to an average of 1.44. STT GDC has also made progress in sustainable infrastructure, with 48% of its data centres achieving green building certification. These results position responsible growth as a core business discipline, linking sustainability performance to long-term asset resilience and operational excellence.
Bruno Lopez, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of STT GDC, stated: 'The next phase of digital growth will be defined by how the industry resolves the tension between rising demand — particularly from AI — and the finite nature of energy, water and land. Responsible scaling is therefore not a sustainability commitment alone; it is a commercial and operational imperative.' He emphasized that the company's progress reflects disciplined execution of a long-term strategy.
In addition to environmental achievements, the report details social and governance milestones. STT GDC maintained zero work-related fatalities and a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of 0.1 across more than 41 million hours worked. The company provided an average of 18 training hours per employee and achieved 21.7% women representation across the Group. Talent development initiatives include the DC Power Up programme and partnerships with 10 Institutes of Higher Learning.
On the governance front, STT GDC strengthened enterprise-wide risk management, incorporating climate, cybersecurity and operational risks into planning. The company reported that 100% of employees completed anti-corruption training. It also advanced supply chain governance by embedding ESG criteria into procurement processes.
